Small Joys of Home That We Have Forgotten

We chase big dreams but true happiness lives at home. Morning sun, mother's paratha, plants, family tea and old memories make life peaceful.

Small Joys of Home That We Have Forgotten

Introduction

In the race of modern life, we are constantly running after big dreams. A bigger house, a better car, more money, and a perfect life on social media. In this chase, we have forgotten that real happiness does not live in big achievements. It lives in the small, quiet, and beautiful moments that happen every day inside our own home.

1. Sitting in the Morning Sunlight

Do you remember the old days when our mothers used to put a charpoy in the courtyard and sit in the morning sunlight? With a rosary in one hand and a cup of tea in the other. That sunlight was not just warming the body; it was healing the soul. Today, the first thing we do after waking up is check our mobile phone. Try this tomorrow. Just for ten minutes, sit in your balcony or courtyard without your phone. Feel the sun on your face. You will realize that this small joy can make your entire day positive.

2. The Smell of Mother's Handmade Paratha

We happily pay a thousand rupees for a pizza from a restaurant. But the happiness that is hidden in a hot paratha made by our mother's hands cannot be bought. The smoke coming from the kitchen in the morning, the smell of ghee, and mother saying, "Have one more, my child." That one sentence is equal to a thousand blessings. Real joy is not in the food, but in who you share it with.

3. Watering the Plants in the Courtyard

There was a time when every house had a small garden. There were roses, mint and chilies. Women of the house would water them in the evening. Taking care of a plant gives a strange peace to the heart. When you see a new leaf growing, you feel happy. If you have even a small corner, put a plant there. Water it daily. You will feel a connection and a small, daily joy.

4. Evening Tea Together as a Family

This is the most beautiful tradition of our culture. In the evening, especially in winter, the whole family sits in one room. There are peanuts, there is tea, and children are making noise. Is there any bigger happiness than this? Make a rule in your house. At least one tea in a day should be together. Without mobile phones. Just talk. You will see that many big problems are solved just by talking.

5. The Noise and Laughter of Children

Many people get irritated by the noise of children. But this noise is the life of the house. A house where children do not laugh feels empty. A child's innocent question, his running and hugging you, his small demands. These are joys. So instead of getting angry at their noise, enjoy it. Play with them for five minutes.

6. Looking at old photo Album

When was the last time you opened your old family photo album? Those thick albums with plastic covers. Childhood pictures, your father's young photo, your parents' wedding video. Seeing them brings a smile and sometimes tears. We have stopped looking at these albums because everything is now in our mobile gallery. But the feeling of turning the pages of an old album is not in scrolling a mobile screen.

7.pakoras in the rain

It cannot happen that it is raining and there are no pakoras in a Pakistani house. This is our most lovely culture. The drops of rain, the smell of wet mud, and hot pakoras with chutney. Today, even in the rain, we do not go out. Sometimes, get wet. Go to the rooftop. Let the rain touch your hands. Be happy like a child. This small joy will wash away your stress.

8. The Unspoken Prayers of Our Home

There is a different kind of peace in our home. The prayer mat lying in the corner, the sound of Azaan, and our mother praying for us without telling us. We often forget this spiritual joy. We think happiness will come from outside. But the biggest happiness is when your parents pray for you.

A Special Message for Readers

In today's world, we have made our lives very complicated. We think that we will be happy when we buy a big house or an expensive mobile phone. But the truth is different. Happiness does not come from shopping; it comes from loving. Loving your family, loving your home, and loving the small moments. If your home is small but your heart is big and you enjoy these small things, you are the richest person in the world. Many rich people living in big bungalows are not happy because they have no time for these small joys. They have money but they have no peace. So do not wait for tomorrow to be happy. Be happy today. Thank Allah for what you have. Look around your home. You have a roof, you have parents, you have children, you have tea, you have love. What else do you need? These small things are the real wealth. If we start valuing them, our life will become easy and our home will become a place of peace and blessings. This is the real success of life that we are all searching for outside but it is available inside our own four walls.

Final Words

We do not need to find happiness; happiness is already present in our home. We just need to remove the blindfold of ignorance from our eyes. While waiting for big happiness, we waste small happiness. So start from today. Start living these small joys. Sit with your family. Have tea. Sit in the sun. Water the plants. Because these small joys together make a big and peaceful life. Make your home full of small joys again.

In the end, remember that a house becomes a home with love, care, and these small daily joys that make life truly meaningful and peaceful for every one today and always

May Allah keep our homes full of love and peace always.
