ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Navy Ship (PNS) YAMAMA, newly commissioned and built by DAMEN Shipyards in Romania, visited Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, during its maiden voyage to Pakistan. The visit aimed to enhance bilateral naval cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
Upon arrival, the ship received a warm welcome from senior Royal Saudi Naval Forces (RSNF) officials and Pakistan Embassy representatives. During its stay, the crew participated in professional engagements, including cross-ship visits, discussions on maritime security, and meetings with RSNF leadership.
Following the port visit, PNS YAMAMA conducted a Passage Exercise (PASSEX) with HMS Makkah of the RSNF. The exercise was designed to improve interoperability, strengthen naval cooperation, and reaffirm the commitment of both navies to regional security and stability.
PNS YAMAMA is the fourth Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) constructed for the Pakistan Navy.
