Heat waves can occur between April and September, with May and June often experiencing the most severe conditions. In these months, temperatures in southern areas frequently exceed 50°C (122°F). For instance, in May 2010, a record-breaking heat wave resulted in widespread heat-related illnesses and fatalities. 

More recently, in May 2024, Sindh province endured prolonged heat waves, recording temperatures as high as 52.5°C in Mohenjo Daro on May 26. Jacobabad followed closely with temperatures reaching 52°C. These extreme conditions led to numerous health emergencies and highlighted the vulnerabilities of the region to escalating temperatures.

Agricultural Adjustments: Farmers should consider modifying planting schedules and employing heat-resistant crop varieties to mitigate the impact of extreme temperatures on agriculture. 

 Emergency Response Planning : Local authorities must develop and implement heat action plans that include early warning systems, medical preparedness, and community outreach programs.
